- Doppio Pasticceria — Italian deli (limited indoor seating, nice picnic tables outside)

- Kajiken — Japanese (eat in; very popular for seminar lunches)

- BLC Café (Daily Grind, Brody Learning Commons) — near Krieger Hall; 7:30 am–3:30 pm, M–F; breakfast sandwiches and limited packaged lunch
- Café Los Sueños — fancy coffee

Culture
- Baltimore Museum of Art — Baltimore’s premier fine-art museum; free to visit, located on campus
- The Charles — movie theater with new releases and revivals
- Baltimore Farmers Market — downtown, Sundays 7 am–12 pm; very lively under the highway, with lots of food
Bars
Several favorites cluster along 23rd Street, making for an easy crawl:
- W.C. Harlan’s — speakeasy; nice and quiet early in the week
- Fadensonnen — German-style beer garden with indoor and outdoor seating
- Dutch Courage — gin bar with lots of food options and indoor/outdoor seating
- Mama Koko’s — cocktail bar with various bar snacks
Elsewhere:
- Peabody Heights Brewery — local brewery with a fantastic arcade-game setup
- Bar Dalí — classic cocktails, wine, and tapas
Dining
- Clavel — Oaxacan-style Mexican; very crowded at peak times, great mezcal list
- Mera Kitchen Collective — fusion dinner spot in Mount Vernon
- Ekiben — counter-serve buns and rice bowls; very casual but delicious
Nature
- Stony Run — park immediately west of campus, with nice trails (but stay out of the water!)
- Druid Hill Park — swimming pool, tennis courts, greenhouse, disc golf, and lots of deer
- Lake Roland — north of campus, accessible on the light rail; lots of shaded trails (but stay out of the water!)
